THE TPP JEFF BECK
ESQUIRE TRIBUTE
In the early 1960’s, up and coming guitarist Jeff Beck saw an opportunity to buy himself a ‘workhorse’ from The Walker Brothers’ guitarist, John Maus. Maus, something of an experimentalist at the time, had a Fender Esquire that he had given Stratocaster body contours, claiming that he found Stratocaster bodies more comfortable to play. Already a bit battered and bruised, the guitar, now in Beck’s hands, went on to feature on many classic 'Yardbirds' tracks from 1965 onwards such as "Shapes of Things" and "I'm not Talking" and has since become an iconic instrument that gave, arguably one of the most talented guitarists of his generation, a start on the road to making musical history.
