THE TPP JIMI HENDRIX "SAVILLE THEATRE" STRATOCASTER TRIBUTE
London, June 4th 1967 - Jimi Hendrix and 'The Experience' play the Saville Theatre to a sold-out crowd before leaving on a massive tour of the USA. It's an important gig and Jimi plays it with a stunning hand-painted psychedelic 58' Fender Stratocaster, featuring a Black Cherry & Cream two-tone finish, lavishly painted with psychedelic designs, which was offset beautifully by the moving, poetic ‘obituary’ on the guitar’s reverse.
The poem was obviously fitting, as during the final song of that historic set Jimi smashed the guitar to pieces and threw it into the audience - truly the brightest flame burns for the shortest time…
