LES PAUL CUSTOM TRIBUTE
One of the most celebrated guitarists of his generation, Mick Ronson epitomised the essence of the ‘guitar hero’, David Bowie called him “my Jeff Beck” and he sported one of the most iconic Les Pauls in musical history, supporting 'Ziggy Stardust' with his 1968 Gibson Les Paul Custom.
The original top was sanded back by Ronson in order to reveal the natural wood in an effort to enhance the guitar's high-end response (a practise being employed by acoustic guitarists of the period). Further to this, Ronson removed the original nickle humbucker covers to also help increase that high-end response - backed up by his faithful "Cry-Baby", produced unparalleled tone and incredible presence.
