Neil Young has been considered one of the most influential singer / songwriters of his generation, co-founding Buffalo Springfield and part of Cosby, Stills & Nash, charting a 50-year course into the world of music, becoming synonymous for his association with one particular guitar - “Old Black”.
Starting life as a 1953 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop, "Old Black" was given a rough re-finish in black and fitted with a Bigsby Vibrato and a Gibson Firebird Mini-Humbucker, micro-selector switch (for bypass or phase), a set of Schaller M6 Tuners, aluminium parts, a crude white 'pin-stripe' that didn't work out quite as well as intended and more! Possibly the heaviest modified Les Paul in musical history - awesome.
